Sweet Potato Chews Empty
PostSubject: Sweet Potato Chews   Sweet Potato Chews EmptySun Apr 07, 2013 4:08 pm

I tried doing this once and ended up with sweet potato gews not chews. LOL. She loved it all the same though. What I did was sliced a large sweet potato in to 1/2 in thick slices. Laid them on a baking tray. Put a little bit of Olive Oil on them and cooked them in the oven at 250 for 4 hours. Most recipes call for the use of a food dehydrator but this on said that it wasn't needed. When I took them out of the oven they were fully cooked but gewy. So I cut the slices up in to small pieces and put them in the fridge to use as a high valued treat for being really good! I was just trying to find something that she could chew that was a bit healthier than a pigs ear, but it didn't work. I will try again another day but will use the dehydrator next time for sure!
